Red berries are so welcome and festive this time of year, and the shrubs that provide them are easy to grow! Many of the old varieties of roses will produce "hips" or berries which develop after the flower - if left unpruned...
Also the shrub simply known as "winterberry" has many new cultivars to choose from, all produce quantities of bright red berries which are revealed after the leaves drop, dramatically against bare branches. Readily available at any garden center, its a great seasonal addition.
